I pedaled faster to feel the cool breeze whip across my face.  When I looked to the side trees flashed by giving the appearance of a green wall.  I rode my bike this evening while my mom, Grandma, and Kat walked.  Oh, and Sam walked to. :)

I also made Orange Bran Muffins.

Trying to get the perfect angle.

Greetings from the land of mountains and oceans!  This weekend was jam-packed with activities.  Saturday was my Grandpa's 60th birthday, and after church we went over to Gravina Island to celebrate.  Sunday we gathered for an Easter picnic with friends at Settlers Cove.  We threw the football, kicked the soccer ball around, and enjoyed good food and fellowship.

Earlier this week the tide was super low - negative 4.0.  We invited the Hamlins and Liesel over for a pancake breakfast before hitting the beach at eight o-clock.  A passel of homeschoolers, donned in boots and raincoats, roamed far and wide searching for treasures usually buried beneath the sea.  Enjoy the photos from our outing :)

It was the perfect day to go!  The weather was gorgeous :)

My week so far...

Saturday-  Was beautiful!  Sunshine and very little wind :)  Kat and I decided to go sit outside on the swing after lunch it was so gorgeous.  That evening Kat, Uncle B, and I went to Lighthouse to get a movie.  First we had to figure out how to work the machine.  That took us a good half-an-hour, and we finally after much struggle got our movie!

Sunday- We went to Saylor's Birthday!  Happy Birthday Saylor!  Mom was sick so she dropped us off, and we spent the afternoon playing games and munching on snacks.

Monday-Today- I went swimming, while Mom and Kat ran errands.  Meg, Becky, Sara, and I dove for bricks, and I swam a couple laps.  We also found out the a majority of the homeschoolers from a different program will be testing with us for the week!  Yay!  Maybe this year I can sit with someone I know :)

Test Prep

So this week Kat and I have been doing Test Prep for SBA.  I don't remember what it stands for but, we have had to do it every year since 3rd grade.  It's Math, Reading, and Writing.  If you're in 4th or 8th grade you have to take the science test.  I would add pictures, but the Internet is painfully slow.

I played the piano for church today!  It's getting easier to play in front of people :)  After church we had lunch, then Michaela's mom called to ask if we wanted to go for a hike, or ride bikes.  We decided to go ride bikes.  We live very close to the playground so instead of driving, Mom and Kat walked while I rode mom's bike!  Michaela and I rode around, talked, and just enjoyed the sunshine!  I wore capris today for the first time in probably six months!  The sunshine felt amazing :)

When it rains, it pours.

That is amazingly true.  It has been raining, snowing, freezing, and then thawing. =)  Just when I think it's going to stop, we get another "shower".  On a happier note,  I got a 100% on my Science exam!

We are doing a VBS in a few weeks, and Kat and I have been practicing music.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

I was awakened this morning at four o-clock by the phone ringing.  It was my grandma, calling to tell us about the earthquake in Japan.  It measured 8.9 and there was about 200-300 casualties.  We are watching the news now, and the destruction is devastating.

My grandma is in Mapleton, OR and the county came up Hadsall Creek (the road she's on)  to sound the bullhorn.  I don't think Mapleton will be affected by it, but we never know.  Well I'm going back to bed for an hour or so.

Hello Everyone!  I have been very busy this week.  It seems like I have never had such a busy school year...

Hello Everyone!  It was 10 degrees here yesterday morning :)  Although it's finally supposed to warm up to 22 degrees.  'Kendall and I were sledding down the driveway which has a jump at the bottom.  We would get going really fast, and fly off the jump and land with a thump and a "Ouch".   Have a great day!
