I was awakened this morning at four o-clock by the phone ringing.  It was my grandma, calling to tell us about the earthquake in Japan.  It measured 8.9 and there was about 200-300 casualties.  We are watching the news now, and the destruction is devastating.

My grandma is in Mapleton, OR and the county came up Hadsall Creek (the road she's on)  to sound the bullhorn.  I don't think Mapleton will be affected by it, but we never know.  Well I'm going back to bed for an hour or so.

  1. I know it is awful what is happening in Japan. I watched the news with my mom all last night. But it was 8.9 in Japan. There is a warning that that there might be a rise or surge in the water here/Ketchikan at 10:15am today.
