We have been very busy.  We leave for Mexico on Tuesday.  Last night we stayed at the church until ten or eleven rehearsing VBS and our Christmas program.  Kat and I are both singing and I'm playing O Little Town of Bethlehem while R and T sing.  I'mn praying that it will go well and they won't goof off.  I'm also playing my cello with Kari, and Kat.  Have a great evening and Happy Sabbath!

Six days till Mexico

It's only six more days until we hop on a jet for Mexico.  I am getting more and more excited as the days go by.  When Marcia sent us the pictures of the hotel,  I was amazed.  Here I was thinking about mud huts and the jungle and I see a villa with pillars.  I don't think it's as small as I thought it was. 

I want to start a new journal when we leave for Mexico.  I calculated how many pages I would have to write a day to finish it.  Five pages a day.  Well I better get writing!

Today was a great day.  This evening Grandpa, Grandma, and I went birthday shopping for Kat this evening for sunset.  I would say what we got her, but she reads my blog so...  We are having a tea party tomorrow for some ladies.  It's going to be lots of fun.  Have a great evening :)

Wow I can't belive I'm already on my sixty-second post.  I had a fantastic day today.  I finished all my school by noon, and then Grandma and I went and dropped off five dozen cookies at Nadeen's house.  She gives them out to the people at the Juvenile Detention center I think.  After that we went birthday shopping for Kat.  She is having a Ladies Christmas tea.

Thursday was a really busy day.  Michaela and I got up and did my science class.  Then we went to the church, and Kat taught three or four violin lessons.  After those we loaded up in the car, and wen to P.E.  For P.E. we played hockey and relay races.  I'm sore.  This evening I helped my mom and Grandma get ready for Sabbath.  It is going to be so good to have a day of rest. 

Right now I'm hanging out with Michaela.  She's posting on her blog and I'm posting on mine.  She got here today about noon, and we went down to the beach.  When we got down there we realized it was high tide.  Then we walked back up to the house, and walked back up to have lunch.  We asked mom if we could walk the road to Clover Pass church and then back to Clover Pass resort.  She's spending the night tonight, and her mom's going to pick her up at P.E.  I would have put a picture up, but Michaela asked me not to.

I haven't done very much today.  I doubled up on my school, and Michaela is coming over tomorrow about noon.   I'm thinking that we'll just hang out, and maybe go down to the beach.  I'll have to see what she wants to do.  Do you like my new background?  I like it better than the one with the holly.  Have a great evening:)

Hey everyone!  Sorry I haven't posted in a while.  Michaela reminded me that I haven't done anything on my blog since Friday.  Anyway we had a fabulous Sabbath.  We went to church in the morning and came back to the house to have lunch.  Then Sharlene, Erin, and Leslie met us out at Ward Lake.  We played hide and go seek in the dark it was awesome.  Ms.Shar and Erin boosted me up onto the fireplace to hide there.  The stone was freezing, and when Mom came by searching for me she shined her light right in my eyes but didn't see me.  I couldn't help but laugh, well I burst out in giggles.  We built a fire and had lots for fun before heading back home to play a game of Pictionary!  I don't have any pictures because Erin hasn't sent them to me yet.  You can check out her blog Here.  We enjoyed a great game of Pictionary while munching on Grandma's peanut butter fudge and Kat's homemade cookies.  Mom and Ms.Shar won the first game and Erin and I won the second game it was lots of fun.  Erin had to draw a tuning fork, and that was a hard drawing.  She was so proud of herself she went and put it up on the fridge.  The stayed till about ten o-clock.  Kat's birthday is this Sunday, and she's going to be 14!  My friend Michaela is coming in from the lodge her parents own for the week and we are going to have a sleepover so Extra school for me.

We went swimming today.  Kat, Noah, Jakob, Brock, Zach, Madison, and I played throw the ball in the hoop.  Last week Noah through it from the end of the pool.  I tried to throw it but... Well I didn't make it.  Have a great evening everyone!

I made Sugar Cookies tonight.  They are really tasty.  I didn't frost them, but they are still yummy.  We had piano lessons this morning at eight.  Our teacher is a nice lady, and we have fun during our lessons. Good night everyone.  Happy early Sabbath!

We played Kickball today at PE.  It was lots of fun.  First the two youngest boys picked teams, and then Dominique (Our teacher) explained the rules to the new kids.  My team wasn't picked first to kick so we guarded the bases.  I haven't played in years, and it's still confusing to me.  When the other team had three outs we switched and my team got to kick.  There are some kids who can kick fantastically.  Our team didn't win, but it was a fun game.  My mom took some pictures today, but the camera still doesn't have a cord.  Have a great evening. :)

I'm such a procrastinator.  I want to write a Christmas story for the newspaper and i didn't realize that the due date is on Friday.  I have an idea Mrs.Alsup gave me, and I hope it works!  Well, good night all!

More Rain and Wind

It was raining and blowing here like you wouldn't believe.  It wasn't as bad as in September, but still cold, wet and dreary.  I did most of my school this morning, and then we went swimming this afternoon.  There wasn't that many people there today.  Kat, N, K, and I tried to see who could throw the basketball into the basketball hoop on the other side of the pool.  It was intresting.  I can't play very well...  I almost made one.  I finished my homework except for reading my geography.  (Kendall is using the book right now)  We went to Tongass and I got a new blue shirt.  Stay warm and dry tonight!

Today was great, but busy!  I woke up a little late this morning, but I was on time for church.  Kat, Leslie, and I led song service.  It was great!  I was going to play the piano, but thanks to Debbie she played for me.

Friday:  We went to the Winter Arts Fair!  It was so fun.  I was amazed at all the homeschool moms creations.  We have quite a few friends who do it.  I bought a really cute headband.  It's pink and brown.  Kat bought hair clips for friends and a doll dress for Bailey.  My grandma bought Spruce tip syrup.  We haven't tried it before, but I've heard it's like apple or something.  She also bought Huckleberry jam.  I had some on toast this morning and it was FABULOUS.

Thursday:  Thanksgiving was great.   I decorated the table with my grandma's beautiful china and a tablecloth from Panama.  We used her blue glasses too.  Well I'm really tired.  We spent all afternoon with Leslie & Erin!  Have a great evening :)

What are you thankful for today?  I know I'm thankful for my family and my friends, and I'm also thankful for the bible text I read this morning.  It is Psalms 56:11.  "In  God I have put my trust:  I will not be afraid what man can do unto me."  I love this verse.  It's so encouraging to me!  I am also thankful for God's care in my life.  What are you thankful for today?

It snowed!  I almost went outside today, but I haven't yet.  Kat doesn't want to go outside and have a snowball fight or anything :(  Well that's what happens when you're a teenager. (Just joking) We baked today for Thanksgiving.  My grandma made a apple pie and I made a coconut one!  I hope everyone has a lovely day tomorrow.

Snow snow snow...

It snowed today.  :)  I woke up this morning and looked out the window.  There was a beautiful layer of fresh white snow on the ground.  I like the snow at first when it's all white, but then people drive on it and it gets all dirty.  After school I shoveled off the porch I went down and jumped in the pile.  We almost went skating today, but we didn't. :(  Have a great evening all!  :)

I went swimming today =)  There was quite a few people there today.  We played sharks and minnows, and freeze tag.  Kat didn't want to swim at first, but then she got in.  This evening we went to feed the dogs.  It was good, but I don't trust one dog.  He's kind of sneaky :(  have a great evening ya'll.

It was cold today!  People were up at the Frog Ponds skating!  I can't wait to skate, but I don't trust the ice yet. 

This morning when we went to feed the dogs, Biscuit (now known as the escape artist) had gotten out of the pen.  We have no clue how she got out!  The fence is cemented at the bottom and there is only a five inch gap by the door.  Thankfully she didn't go anywhere!  She's locked up in the house! We're watching something on Africa!  Have a fabulous night ya'll!

I had a great day today!  This morning we went to church, and I had to play the piano.  It was the third time. I've played a couple times already, but I still get nervous and my hands shake sometimes!

After sunset Kat, Mom, Grandma, and I went to Brenda's house and fed her dogs.  This was the first time and it went pretty well except for it being pitch black!  Have a great evening ya'll!

Hello Everyone!  I hope ya'll have had a fabulous day!  Today it was about thirty-two or thirty-three degrees.  It's going to be ice skating time soon.  This morning we had piano lessons at 8:00 a.m.  the lady who teaches us is going to be gone for a week over Thanksgiving.  She asked us to watch her dogs for her.  Did I mention they are sled dogs? (and big.)  They are really nice dogs, just big.  Their names are: Rivers, Raven, Crow, Oreo, Ruby and Biscuit.  My favorite dogs are Rivers and Biscuit, they are brother and sister, and probably the biggest.  I also like Ruby!  She is the most hyper though.

We are having waffles for dinner with Mom's best blueberry sauce!  It's my favorite. :)  Have a good night!  Stay warm and dry!

Today was a really busy day!  This morning I had science class.  Then we drove into town to get to the dentist by 9:00.  From there we went to the church,  Kat taught two violin lessons while I struggled with a math exam.  One more of her students came and then we went to P.E. at the REC center.  We played basketball today!  It was fun! : P Some of us are good and some (like me) aren't so good.  It was a good game, but now I feel exhausted.  We also picked up my grandma from the airport. She was down South and I'm really glad she's back.  Have a good night everyone!

Lovely, Cold Day!

Today was really cold!  We're getting into our winter weather!  Tonight after dinner Kat, my mom and I went for a walk.  We walked from our house up to the school and back.  It was cold, but it felt really good!  Well I don't have anything else to say!  Good night!

Tuesday!

Today was a great day!  We did all our school and then Kat and I went over to Mrs.Alsup's house to have her help us with a quilt square we were supposed to get to a friend about a year ago!  Right now I'm chatting with a friend and getting ideas for my "board".  I had this idea to get a cork board and decorate it with pictures and a calendar!  Have a great day!

Awesome Day!

I had a fabulous day today!  This morning I got to sleep in for once because my dad is out of town.  Then Kat, Mom, Grandpa Brad and I went down to the cannery where we got the boat and started across the channel.  It felt so wonderful to be outside with the wind in my face and...well, you'll just have to come to Southeast to understand!  Today I just had a complete feeling of freedom! 

When we got to the Island we parked at my uncle Brian's dock because my grandpa's dock is currently under construction.  I drove the four-wheeler down the ramp to the dock where I picked up 5 or 6 Jerry Jugs full of gas.  It was a little scary for me since I've never driven the ramp before and the dock is REALLY small!  Next I drove across the beach to my grandpa's and up the hill.  That was fun except for I did a wheelie coming up the hill.  I made it up the hill and unloaded the jugs before ripping off across the yard!  I love four-wheeling!  I went up another hill, and another one before having to stop!  There where no more hills.  Then I got out my trusty 22 Henry Rifle and shot a few rounds!  I also shot a few other guns my grandpa had brought!  Our targets were black so we spray painted them red!  I got paint on my hand and it looks like it's bleeding!  All in all it was a fun day!

Average day!

Hey Everyone!  Today was a pretty average day!  We went to church, and came back to a delicious lunch my grandpa had made.  Then we went for a walk with Ms. Shar and Erin.  I figured out how to download music on my iPod, but I don't know how to delete!  Anyone have ideas? 

Rainy Day

Today was a really wet, rainy day.  I went to work with my Uncle B. I thought to myself as we were going to leave, "It's not raining that hard. I'll be fine."  Think again.  My mom wisely told me that I would need rain pants, a waterproof coat, and boots.  I'm so glad I listened to her.  It was soooo wet.  We went down to the cannery and got my Uncle's raingear.  Then we drove into partway into town and got the trailer. Next we went and retrieved some 8x8 blocks for the trailer.  We drove all the way into town to Northland Barge Line and picked up the tresses for my Uncle's house and drove back to the cannary.  Finally we unloaded the tresses and parked the trailer.  Now I'm sitting here drinking a cup of hot Chocolate. Yummm!  I'm going to go cuddle up on the couch and read my book!

We went hiking today!  It was fun, but my feet are a little sore. Boots aren't the best to hike in.  It was lots of fun, and when got to the top we ate lunch.  On the way up we passed lots of frozen puddles and there was a little pond along the way that was starting to freeze over.  I can't wait for it to freeze:)  Oh, when I mean we, it includes my family and the Hamlins!  Have a great evening!

Hi everyone!  We didn't do much today, just school and chores!  Well, on second thought,  Kat and I practiced the song we're singing together.  It was fun,  my part is a little hard since I'm singing the harmony, and I've never sung harmony before...  We also played a few piano duets together, my favorite one is "Hark the Harold Angels Sing"  I also ordered an purple iPod nano!  My sis and I are buying a shuffle for my mom!  We are hoping they get here before we leave for Mexico!  Have a great day!

Hey Everyone!  Today was a great day!  This afternoon we went hiking with somw friends from out of town.  It was lots of fun.  We walked the Savage Trail to the end, and then we walked the dirt road back.  Then we stopped in at Refiners Roast and got a hot drink!  I have to get the pictures off the camera.  Our USB cord is missing :(  We have to take the camera to Walmart and put them on the disc.   Have a great day! :)

This is so frustrating!  I can't get my pictures to load.  L sent them to me from her iphone, and now they won't load. 

We had a busy day today!  I had P.E. and voice, plus Kendall taught four violin lessons.  P.E. was fun today,  we did gymnastics, hockey,  and just ran around and had fun. Have a great evening!

Busy day!  Thursdays are always busy!  Today was slightly busy!  We did TONS of school!  Then at 2:30 we went to the Pioneer Home with our cousins and some friends.  Kat and I played "As the Deer," and I played "Seek Ye First."  I love "Seek Ye First,"  it's such a pretty arrangement!  Kat and I have played "As the Deer," for soooo many functions.  My mom loves it! An Almost Rainless Day!

            No wind or rain right now! Ya!!! Whoops, I spoke to soon. It just started raining. :( Oh well! I have had a great day so far! I finished all my school and chores. Right now I am listening to "Songs from the Siuslaw." It is the CD my cousins wrote. My grandpa and the song writers grew up together. They were all loggers so it's about logging. I really like listening to it! My one cousin Craig writes songs and plays the guitar, Terri sings and plays guitar too. They both play by ear and only read a little bit of music.


          Tonight we are going to pick up Mrs.Alsup from the airport. She was in New Jersey. We haven't seen her in a while. :)

Hello Everyone!

Hey!  Today I went swimming with Kat!  It was lots of fun.  We played Sharks and Minnows, and we all the girls or at least most of  them lined up on the side of the pool and jumped off creating a Dominoes effect.  It was lots of fun.  Kat treaded water for fifteen minutes.  I tried but five was all I could do today,  I have done ten or fifteen minutes before though.  Today there was another wind alert & it blew Hard!  No telephone poles were broken.  Have a great evening everyone!

Hey Everyone!  We had pizza for dinner tonight!  It was soooo good!  My mom made Marguerite Pizza,  it is pizza with tomatoes soaked in Olive oil, garlic, salt, and their own juice.  That is put on a crust with basil and cheese. It tastes awesome. 

Since we don't celebrate Halloween we are all sitting up in the family room watching Globe Treker. We get a few tricker treaters not many though. All our lights so nobody will stop by.  Have a great evening!

Connel Lake Hike

Hello Everyone!  I had an awesome day!  We went hiking with E and L up Connel Lake!  It was so much fun.  I am still waiting for L to send me pics as my camera is gone.  In the process of moving it got lost.  We didn't go all the way to the top though.  Then we drove back by Ward Lake and the trail was flooded like the camping spots were flooded to. Have a great day! :) I will post some pics soon!

Rain Rain Go AWAY

          It's raining again.  I thought our October weather was over!  Well it's not.  It is raining and blowing a storm out there.  I want winter to hurry up and get here so we can Ice Skate.

         We have also been getting ready for Sabbath.  Mom made chili for dinner.  Yummmmmm!  It sounds so good right now!  I have a sore back.  I did something to it a week or two ago.  If I bend over it hurts.  I am thinking a sore muscle or a pinched nerve.  I play the cello and it is on the side of my bowing arm.  That might have something to do with it.  I can't play my cello for very long or it starts to hurt.  I hope it heals up quick, Mom has been rubbing my back.  Thanks Mom!!! 

         Earlier today I had this idea to start something I now like to call "The Quote Book".  I found some really fabulous quotes, and I wanted to remember them.  I picked out a notepad that's purple and copied them in.  I really like the way it looks!

Roller Skating!

          Today we went Roller Skating!  It was actually for my P.E. class, but my mom and sister came to.  There was a lot of moms and older siblings though.  I haven't skated in over one or two years.  At first it was a struggle to stay up, but then I got it.  It is kinda like bike riding you never forget how!

Busy Day Today and Tomorrow

          Wow!  Today was really busy!  Early this morning we picked up a friend from the airport and we wen out for hot chocolate.  Yummy!  I had peppermint in mine.  It reminded me of Christmas and Winter.  It is funny how some foods remind you of certain holidays.  Pumpkin bars are so Fall.  Peppermint Hot Chocolate is Winter.  Watermelon is Summer for sure.  Fresh strawberries for Spring. 

          I can't wait for a cold snap so we can go ice skating.  I love ice skating on a frozen pond with the snow on the green pine trees and the crisp fresh air.  It always reminds me of the wonderful creations our creator has made for us. 

         Sorry I kind of got of subject.  Anyways Thursdays are always busy we start out with voice in the morning and then Kendall teaches 4 violin lessons.  I also have P.E. in the afternoon.  Tomorrow we are roller skating.  Better go.  I need plenty of sleep!

          My mom, Kat, and I just finished a Pilate's video.  It was quite the workout.  I don't have much energy and it doesn't help that it is raining.  Plus the sky is overcast and gray...  Typical K*t**ik*n weather.

         We also made fresh bread! I love the smell of baking bread.  It seems so homey.  Anyways enough typing for now.  I have to go fold laundry.

Swimming

          Today we went swimming.  We have a homeschool group that goes every Monday.  We swim and we play games like tag, sharks and minnows, and Marco Polo.  Today we were seeing who could do the most somersaults,  my maximum is one.  Kendall, on the other hand, can do nine, one of my friends Noah can do ten. I like to swim but somersaults make me nervous.  Maybe one day I'll be able to do ten. (Maybe.)

Go to the beach! Today we went to Settlers Cove beach.  With our pastors daughters.  It was so much fun! We walked on the beach for a ways and then we walked the loop back. I hope everyone Had a Great Day!!!

Today was good weather!  Our power has been out about ten times.  The wind damaged a telephone pole and split it in half.  Two trees fell across the road and knocked some more power lines out.  Lucky for us my Grandpa B had a generator and fired it up and we had power!  It was cool since no one else had power.  We watched a movie and went to bed.

How are you all?  I am sore!!!! We played indoor hockey at y P.E. Class.  I stepped on my ankle wrong and then I already have a bum knee so...  Anyway I am still on a diet.  My whole family is downstairs eating,  I am hungry, but I'm just trying to keep any extra weight off.  I hope everyone has a lovely day!

Tired Tired Tired

I am so tired today.  I don't know what it is.  We have been on the go.  Yesterday was really busy.  I got up at six to have time to shower and dress before my Science class at seven. Then I rushed downstairs and got all my school and music together for the day.  Next we all jumped in the car and headed to voice for an hour that was lots of fun.  After that we went to the church for Kat's violin lesson.  She has started teaching.  We ate lunch and did some school.  I have a P.E. at 1:30 so we went to the REC center and while I had class Kat and mom worked out in the weight room.  Today I am just dragging.  I am sorry there aren't any pics.  the camera doesn't have a cord so we have to take it to walmart to get the pictures on CDs.  Have a Great Day.

Writing Foundations :(

           At the start of school year, my sister and I started a writing program.  It is a online course...  I don't really care for online courses.  We have to highlight tons of different sentence starters, and it's very confusing sometimes.  Actually that is what I am supposed to be doing so I will get back to my outlining.

          I am so tired.  We had a busy day today!  First my mom and I got up early and went for a run.  Then I had science class at 7:00.  After that we had voice lessons at 10:00 then we had to take our car into the shop at 10:30.  Then we came home and finished our school.  We also had to go into town. Weedeater Wonders

Hi Everyone,

     I just finished weedeating.  Or should I say trying to weedeat. I have won the world record for breaking the most strings in five minutes. LOL. I broke 4 strings and this is extra tough string. Oh well! I got it done though.

     My mom Kat and I are going downtown for wool socks. I don't really know why. It isn't even snowing or raining.  It is like 69 here. That is so hot for here.
