It's done!  Finito...finished.  Let the sun shine.  We've spent the past two evening weeding and planting veggies and potatoes.  First we weeded the boxes that haven't been touched in two or three years.  Then we added Steer manure and organic compost.  Finally last night we planted two boxes of potatoes, a box filled with Swiss Chard, tomatoes, green peppers, and salad nasturtiums.  Kendall, formerly known as Kat, planted carrots and is waiting for the herbs she ordered.  I planted pansies, and nasturtiums.

Monday morning at 9:30 a group of homeschoolers and private school students met at Ward Lake proper.  We spent all day learning about orienteering, botany, wildlife, and fisheries/aquatic insects.  The orienteering class was the BEST!  We reviewed navigating with a compass, and they taught us how to count our pace.  After that came the fun part, a course using our pace, and a compass.  During wildlife class Hannah somehow acquired the wardrobe of a beaver!

On Wednesday our cousins, Joanna and Carrie, drove over to our house to practice for the Pioneer home.  Then later in the evening we went over to Gr*vi* to help my Uncle transplant an apple tree.  Transplanting a tree here includes welding a cage, hanging chicken wire, and a backhoe.

Thursday was the last day official day of P.E.  Next week, we meet for a picnic.
